Redhill & Reigate Golf Club Breakfast Run
The Allsorts enjoyed a lovely morning run in Reigate, also joined by quite a few walkers. The highlight was a delicious breakfast afterwards at Redhill & Reigate Golf Club where our chair is known to frequent when she is not running!!
Bluebell Run - April 2017
Alison and Julia led the group for our annual trip to Banstead Woods to see the bluebells. A fantastic turnout was rewarded with some glorious views of the bluebells in full splendour.
Christmas Lights Run - December 2016
Sabine led our annual Christmas lights run to see the festivities in Lower Morden Lane, followed by mince pies and mulled wine, thanks to Lesley.
Garsons Farm (Esher) Away Run - November 2016
A handful of hardy Allsorts braved the weather for the away run from Garsons farm organised by Janet. It was followed by coffee in the GIRO cafe.
Blenheim Palace 10k and Half Marathon - October 2016
The races took place within the palace grounds, which made for a stunningly beautiful setting. Both races consisted of two laps of the palace grounds. The half marathon started just over 2 hours before the 10k meaning those running the 10k were able to cheer on the half marathon runners on their first loop before going to their own start. 12 Allsorts took on the half marathon with 11 opting for the 10k. A selection of Allsorts and husbands even came along for support, many thanks to them.
Lavender Run - July 2016
About thirty Allsorts met at Oaks Park for the Lavender Run. The run took them through the beautiful lavender fields opposite the park and then followed the Sutton Council’s countryside walk following footpaths, mainly off road. The run was followed by a breakfast in the Oaks Park cafe which was enjoyed by all.
Allsorts Memorial Run & BBQ – July 2016
The annual memorial run and BBQ took place on 13 July at Horton Country Park. Prior to the run a minutes silence was held to remember those Allsorts who had sadly passed away. After the run an excellent BBQ was cooked by Ian and Charles. In true Allsorts style this was followed by some lovely puds. The club invited along a representative from Epsom Food Bank, the Allsorts charity for the year, who was presented with a cheque for £500. The Food Bank was also given food and toiletry contributions by Members. A very enjoyable evening, although it could have been a little warmer!
